Sunday Header

Sunday Morning Worship

Services begin at 10:30am each Sunday. Our worship time is informal and contemporary, with words to the songs appearing on a screen at the front. Please feel free to sit, stand or move around, there are no rules!

After worship, notices and updates help keep us in touch with what's going on in the life of the church. Towards the end of the service there may be a time for ministry, prayer or specific response following the sermon.

We regularly share Communion together.

Our stewards are on hand to help; please ask if there's anything we can do to make you feel comfortable. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. We'd love to help you to feel at ease especially if it's your first visit to us.

Preaching Series

During August our 4-part sermon series called 'Hydrate' will look at different ways in which we can gain spiritual refreshment.

Given the recent hot weather, I (Dave) have plenty of metaphors which I can use as illustrations. One of these is the current debate between Ruth and myself as to how much we should water the garden. I'm not opposed to a bit of lawn sprinkler time of an evening for the almost bleached yellow grass. Ruthie on the other hand feels that this is highly irresponsible given possible future water shortages. Whatever the morality of the argument, there is one indisputable truth. When I do water the grass, it turns green remarkably quickly (pretty much overnight in fact). The parallel with our spiritual lives is pretty clear. If we allow ourselves to become deprived of spiritual refreshment, we too will soon lose our life and colour. And like the vast patches of yellow grass around the place at the moment, we too could become painfully unsightly to all who see us.

But the great news is that as we draw on Jesus's promised streams of living water, we can come to life relatively quickly. Remember the Samaritan woman at the well? A life of disappointment, poor choices and desperation (aka yellow grass syndrome) is the sum total of her existence. But then she encounters Jesus and hey presto (apologies for the inappropriate magical term), she converts her entire village. Who knows what you might be like if you were properly spiritually hydrated as well?

Our sermons are by a variety of preachers including elders of the church, other church members with a preaching / prophetic gift, and guest speakers. Our sermons are recorded and are available to listen to or to download.

Our Sunday and worship videos from March 2020 to July 2021 are available to watch via our YouTube Channel Jubilee Church Shepperton. The audio can also be download from the 'Sermon and Media' page CLICK HERE
